How about a Breath of Fresh Air

Aeration is the Most Important Aspect of any Pond

We carry several different diffused aeration kits including wind driven aerators.  Diffused aeration systems are the best way to destratisfy and create circulation on ponds over 6' deep.

Each Kit includes three basic parts an air compressor, air hose and air diffuser.  The air diffuser sets on shore (compressor needs to be covered from rain but also needs ventilation, Rock Covers work great) and pumps air out through the hose to the air diffuser located on the bottom of the pond. The result is thousands of tiny bubbles rushing out of the bubblier to the pond surface, creating circulation and providing aeration.

There are several advantages to using aeration.  The electric motor is on shore, not in water. Secondly air diffusers lay on the bottom, ensuring aeration of the entire pond from top to bottom, regardless of depth and size. Thirdly tubing lengths an go up to 2000' for pond without electricity nearby.

All motors are designed for continuous duty operation and are oil-less for low maintenance. Periodic cleaning of air filter and replacement of diaphragm and gasket every few years is all that is necessary. We can build much larger systems or alter these kits to fit your specific needs. Please call for assistance. Kits include everything needed for installation and operation except for tubing weights. Tubing is buoyant and requires a 5 pound weight every 6' - 8' to sink, or use optional self weighted tubing. . Aeration systems are much more natural looking and blend into the landscape better than surface aerators or fountains.

Placement of air diffuser are a major part of total aeration.  First of all the deeper an air diffuser is located, the more boiling action it will create and a larger area will be aerated.  The best place for a diffuser is a few feet out of the deepest hole in the pond,  Keeping the diffuser out of the hole allows a cooler spot for fish to go in the summer and a warmer spot in the winter.  The reason for this is a diffuser when on is taking the bottom water to the top of the pond which in return will warm the water in the summer and cool it down in the winter.  Secondly depending on the shape of your pond two diffusers may be needed to for proper aeration.  Long, narrow ponds may require multiple diffusers to properly aerate the entire pond.  Square, circular and oval ponds can usually be aerated from on central diffuser.

WIND POWERED AERATOR
Let Mother Nature help aerate, circulate and destratisfy your pond! Our redesigned and improved windmill is an ideal way to supplement oxygen levels and improve the overall health of a pond. Ideal for areas needing aeration without electricity nearby. Windmill can be located hundreds of feet from the pond’s edge, if necessary, to catch more wind.
• Made from heavy duty galvanized steel - last longer than all other types
• Only requires 5 mph of wind to operate
• 64" diameter head with 12 blades, pumps 1.5 CFM of air
• No annual maintenance except diaphragm replacement as needed (usually
one to two years) and minimal greasing
• Will pay for itself several times over in saved electricity costs
• Price includes windmill tower, head, and tail.

• If you have a tower or wish to build your own, you can purchase it with
everything except the tower - just call us.
