Matala is available in three different grades for biological filtration:

• Green: Coarse
• Blue: Medium
• Gray: Fine

Select the grade of material you want based on water flow. Filters with high flow rates should use a pad with more coarse material to prevent plugging.

Each Aquafalls has three filter pads (except mini which has two). Pads can be stacked in any combination. When you purchase your Aquafalls filter complete with Matala media we include one green and two blue pads.
