Using water dyes, do help control(slow down)aquatic weed growth. Pond dyes reduce the amount of sunlight penetrating the water, therefore reducing the amount of weed and algae growth. Plants need sunlight to grow therefore you can see how using a dye would work in slowing down weed and algae growth.
The dye should be applied early in the season and should be maintain threw out the whole season.
The dye is easy to apply, just pour it in and it will mix throughout the pond in a short amount of time. you may need to apply more dye throughout a season depending on the amount of rain you get.
The use of dye will not stop weed growth but will greatly reduce it if maintained.
One gallon treats 1 acre at 4' deep
